Peacock Lariat

My new most favorite piece of jewelry to wear, hands-down. I swear, if I didn't have to give away the turquoise one to my grandmother, it might have never left my possession. As for this one, it might be a while yet before I'm prepared to sell it. I've worn it just about every time I get a day off and get to go out and do something.

Seriously, I LOVE this necklace! I saw the beads online when I was shopping for another project and I just had to have them. The pendants are made from Paola (sp?) shell rounds (the backs are flatter than the original design, so I had to redo it myself, for which I feel kinda proud), cat's eye flat beads with some crystals and charms I had lying around. Seriously, those moon charms are from a bracelet I dismantled YEARS ago and just never threw 'em away. Glad I didn't! They matched the pendants perfectly.

I mostly wear it the same way you see pictured with the Turquoise Lariat; wrapped once around my neck then a single half-hitch knot. I love chokers and this design seems to fit the bill while still being elegant and long.

EDIT: Whether I was prepared to or not, it done got sold. >_< At a family reunion, no less. I was wearing it, conversation arose about me selling my pieces and I was asked how much I'd sell it for. I said so, and this relative of mine said she'd buy it right then. D: I was so torn! I love selling my jewelry, but I love the necklace too...*sigh* But I sold it and now I'm gonna make another one! XD Found the perfect crystals to use for the pendants, too. It'll be a different color for the third time, so we'll see if I love it as much.
