Description
My centaur character, Chenoa, Inali's twin sister. Her name means "White Dove" in some Native American language. Crap, now I need to figure out which one...anyway, she's an albino centaur, so even when I color her, she'll still be very light. She's the medicine woman-in-training for her herd, though she's not far from taking up that mantle. Proficient in spells, she can also speak the human's language fairly well, though at the start of the story it's a very VERY old version of the language. Think Elizabethan English, or something like that. She's a quick learner in the modern language, though.
The raven in the picture is named Hosa, which means (appropriately) "Little Raven." I'll be honest, I'm tired of ravens (and snakes) being portrayed as evil symbols in literature, so Hosa is something like Chenoa's familiar. She's very intelligent and acts as a scout in the sky. I haven't decided if she'll be able to speak or not (because ravens can be trained to speak, just like parrots) but we'll see.

You know what might be interesting? If Hosa was trained to recall short pieces of conversations and repeat them. Or just random snippets, but was able to mimic the VOICE, so any time someone was coming to see Chenoa, she'd know who they were by Hosa's repeating something that person said on his or her way over, and it'd seem like Chenoa could just SENSE they were coming! There's a type of bird that can mimic almost any sound it hears, including other animals, chainsaws, trees falling, etc. It's really cool.
That being said, Chenoa reminds me of someone, too....maybe her stance....kind of brings to mind Aang or Katara....why am I on an Avatar kick all of a sudden.....
