Description
Last one! This was made specifically for the Banzai Boogie, the rave-type dance at the end of Saturday. I'd heard there'd be a group of Naruto cosplayers punking out their characters, so I decided to give it a shot with Chouji. And I really liked how it turned out! I've even occationally worn this outfit to class, sans the glowsticks.
So the kanji on the side of my shirt I painted on myself; it's the kanji that Chouji wears on the front of his armor. On the other side of the shirt I painted a butterfly (Chouji means butterfly in Japanese, fyi). The kanji down my leg says "Ino Shika Chou", the names of he and his friends. I thought it was clever, anyway. There were also chains on my other side with butterfly charms hanging off of them. And on my back? I fashioned some butterfly wings out of blue glowsticks and duct taped them to my shirt. The people that got it seemed to like the idea.
It was SO NICE to have pockets for this costume. It's basically regular clothes, so this is the most comfortable I was for the entire con. Except for the shoes. I had to wear my ninja sandals since I didn't find any boots in time. Oh well. The extra (FAKE) piercings were interesting too (when I was trying them on at home, I really freaked out my roommates. It was hilarious) but at least I didn't lose any of them.
So Chouji still belongs to Masashi Kishimoto, just not necessarily this version of him. I came up with it myself.
Cosplayer is me, mormongirlbyu and the picture was taken by a friend of mine and *Obi-quiet's at the con.
